Our Favorite Cream Liqueur Recipes
January is a tough month. It’s cold, but we no longer have the excitement of the holidays. We’re trying to get our lives on the right track while dealing with freezing and sub-freezing weather daily. Luckily, we have the cure for your January blues: cream liqueur cocktails.
Cream liqueurs include cream (hence the name), such as Bailey’s Irish Cream. These libations are generally between 15% and 18% alcohol by volume, falling on the lower end of the scale. Cream liqueurs typically include flavors, such as fruity, spicy, or savory, to enhance the taste.
We offer a few flavors that we know you’ll love at Old Tennessee Distilling Company. Take a look at our favorites and some quick recipes to enjoy, and we’re sure your cold January will take a turn for the better.
Butterscotch ‘n Coffee
2 oz. Butterscotch Cream Liqueur
4 oz. cold brew coffee
Unless you have a cool boss, we recommend saving this combo for the weekend. With only two ingredients, this quick coffee cocktail can be made in mere seconds and will remind you of the butterscotch candies your grandma gave you… but all grown up.
Honey Peach ‘n Coffee
2 oz. Honey Peach Cream Liqueur
4 oz. cold brew coffee
Much like the previous recipe, you can make this fruity cocktail in no time. This peachy coffee will remind you of the warm summer days, especially when served cold! It’s a great after-dinner cocktail that will have you dreaming of peach-filled summer evenings.
Creme Brulee ‘n Coffee
2 oz. Creme Brulee Cream Liqueur
4 oz. black coffee
If you’re looking for a classic dessert-in-a-cup, this is the ticket. Our creme brulee liqueur has custard and sugar taste in a drinkable form. If you want to get fancy with this one, rim your martini glass in vanilla extract or vanilla ice cream and then dip in sugar. This enhances the creme brulee flavor and allows for an exceptional post-dinner dessert cocktail.
Holiday Egg Nog
2 oz. Happy Holiday Nog Cream Liqueur
4 oz. milk
If you’re not over the holidays yet (and that’s ok, it’s only January), we suggest mixing up a tall glass of egg nog! Our Happy Holiday Nog Cream Liqueur doesn’t need anything else, but we generally pair it with a few ounces of milk to stick to traditions. Of course, if you’d prefer this straight, we’re not here to stop you!
If making this for a group of people, try adding the ingredients into a crockpot and cook on low for a few hours. This warm take on classic egg nog is surprisingly good and will keep your insides warm.
All of these cocktails are easy to make and can be whipped up in no time with ingredients you already have at home; that is as long as you’ve seen us recently and stocked up! If not, plan a visit to stock up on the best ways to stay warm and happy this January. Let us know if you’d like to sample any of these flavors before bringing them home. We offer free samples on any of our products seven days a week. Give us a call for more information, or swing by next time you’re in town.
