The Best Christmas Bourbon Cocktails
Hot Tennessee Toddy
You don’t need illness as an excuse to enjoy this delicious twist on a hot toddy.
Recipe:
- 2 oz. Tennessee Bourbon (honey cask finished)
- 2 oz. boiling water
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 slice of lemon
- A sprinkle of nutmeg
Combine the bourbon, honey, and boiling water in a mug or a heatproof glass with a handle. Add the cloves, cinnamon, and lemon and leave them standing for a few minutes to develop the flavors. Sprinkle in the nutmeg just before serving. Vamp up your drink by rimming the edge of your mug with some light brown sugar, or add a couple of star anise for a Christmas feel.
Christmas Irish Coffee
Technically, this drink is a coffee, so it can be drunk any time of the day…right? Well, it is the silly season!
Recipe:
- 1 ½ oz. Old Tennessee Straight Bourbon Whiskey
- 3/4 cup of freshly brewed coffee
- 1 tsp of maple syrup
- Whipped cream for serving
- A pinch of cinnamon
Combine the hot coffee, bourbon, and maple syrup in a mug or Irish coffee glass and stir well until combined. Top with the whipped cream and sprinkle the cinnamon. If you want to up the flavor game in this Christmas bourbon cocktail, why not use a candy cane as a drink stirrer?
Tennessee Bourbon and Apple Cider Cocktail
We know, we know, apple cocktails are more like fall cocktails than winter, but trust us, this drink will help you while you prepare your Christmas feast.
Recipe:
- ¾ cup apple cider
- ⅓ cup of Butcher’s Bourbon Straight Bourbon Whiskey
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (fresh, if possible)
- ½ tsp of maple syrup (optional, to taste)
- Dash of club soda (optional, to taste)
- 2 slices of a red apple for garnish
Combine the cider, bourbon, and lemon juice in a mixer and pour into a tumbler over ice. If you’re using maple syrup, add it at the mixer stage, and if you’re using club soda for an extra fizz, pour it in the tumbler at the end. Garnish your Christmas cocktail with apple slices and a sprinkling of cinnamon if you like.
Bourbon Christmas Sour
Swap out your year-round whiskey sour recipe for this Christmas-inspired cocktail. Quick and easy, you’ll be feeling festive in no time.
Recipe:
- 2 oz Old Tennessee Straight Bourbon Whiskey
- ½ oz lemon juice
- ½ oz orange juice
- ½ ounce simple syrup
- Orange peel for garnish
- Maraschino cherry for garnish
Combine the bourbon and simple syrup, add the lemon and orange juice, and stir to combine. Pour over ice and garnish with orange peel and a maraschino cherry.
