National Happy Hour Day 2021
November 12th is National Happy Hour Day, a day to be with friends, listen to good music, and have a few tasty drinks! Happy hours are a great way to save money, mingle, and relax. If you aren’t able to make it to your favorite bar, brewery, or restaurant to celebrate today, we’ve curated a list of our favorite drinks that can be easily made in the comfort of your own home and that can be made in large quantities for sharing. Here are some classic happy hour drinks:
Watermelon Moonshine Margarita
The classic margarita is a happy hour favorite, but we like to switch it up by using moonshine instead of tequila. This drink is guaranteed to be a fan favorite.
2 oz. lime juice
1 oz. simple syrup
0.25 oz. triple sec
Place the moonshine, simple syrup, triple sec, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and then strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wedge if desired.
This whiskey sour is the perfect combination of bitter, sweet, and oaky and is perfect for the fall and winter months.
2 oz. Butcher’s Bourbon
0.75 oz lemon juice
0.5 oz. Simple syrup
3 dashes of bitters
Combine the simple syrup, lemon juice, bitters, and whiskey in a shaker. Fill with ice. Cover and shake for about 30 seconds, until the shaker is frosty. Strain into a martini glass and enjoy!
Gin & Tonic
This gin & tonic is not too heavy and not too sweet, which makes it the perfect option if you want to drink a light cocktail.
1.5 oz. Dumplin Creek Gin
1 oz. lime juice
Top with tonic water
Fill a short glass with ice. Add gin and lime juice. Then top with tonic water. Garnish with a lime wedge.
This flirtini is a great option if you want something fruity that isn’t too sweet. Enjoy this drink before a night out.
