Fourth of July Drinks
Independence Day is just around the corner- we can smell the grill and picture the fireworks now! No matter what part of the United States you live in, there are all kinds of traditions for the Fourth of July, but in East Tennessee, you can find us on the lake, barbecuing, and sipping some tasty drinks. So if you need some all-American drink inspiration to spice up your holiday, forget the beer and look no further!
Blackberry Basil Hard Lemonade
This summertime classic is definitely a crowd-pleaser. For this cocktail, you’ll need:
2 pints of Blackberries
2 sprigs of Basil
1 bag of Lemons
2 cups Sugar (substitute with stevia if you’ ’re sugar conscience!)
6-8 cups of Water (substitute sparkling water for something extra!)
1-2 oz Vodka per drink
Ice
Juice the lemons and blackberries, then strain into a bowl with the sugar. Muddle the basil in the mixture and stir in the water. Add 1-2 ounces of vodka per cup of lemonade, and enjoy!
Blue Hawaiian Refresher
This coconut rum dream is the way to go for something more tropical. You’ll need:
4 oz Rum
4 oz Blue Curacao
2 oz Coconut Rum
¼ cup Cream of coconut
¼ cup Pineapple juice
4 cups Ice
Pineapple slices and cherries to garnish
Blend all the ingredients for a creamy, refreshing beverage!
The Red, White, & Blue
This one is a visual showstopper, just like fireworks! For this layered cocktail, you’ll need:
1 oz Grenadine
3 oz Lemonade
1 oz Blue Curacao
1 oz Vodka
Ice
Crafting this is easier than it seems; just pour in the grenadine, vodka, lemonade, and then blue curacao! The varying sugar content of each liquid will separate, producing the striped effect.
