The Perfect Winter Evening in Kodak
As November wraps up, the season of Christmas music, lights, and cozy sweaters is finally upon us. In the weeks leading up to the holidays, there are numerous activities and events going on in the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville area. However, if you’re looking for something a little different this year, one little exit off I-40 has everything you need to kick off the most wonderful time of the year. Take Exit 407 near Knoxville and Sevierville, and you’ll find yourself in Kodak, Tennessee — a small, unique community that lights up during the winter months. Here’s our plan for the perfect way to celebrate the season in Kodak, Tennessee:
- Have a Delicious Meal
The best way to start any evening out is by enjoying a delicious meal, and Kodak has plenty of restaurants to offer. If you love a good steak, The Chop House is the place to go. For a hearty Italian meal, try Geno’s Pizza or Puleo’s Grille. If it’s a burger you’re after, we recommend Uncle Buck’s Grill within Bass Pro Shops — and feel free to browse around the shop while you’re at it.
- See the Lights at Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland
If it’s dark enough, you’ll see some flashing Christmas lights as you pull off the interstate. That’s the next stop on your holiday adventure — Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland, a drive-through light show that is fully synchronized to music. Hundreds of thousands of LED Christmas lights are programmed to flash in unison with your favorite Christmas carols to create a spectacular light show. Just drive up, grab a ticket for $25 per car, turn up the radio, and enjoy the largest light show of its kind in the United States.
- Enjoy a Free Whiskey and Moonshine Tasting
After the festive light show, end the night with us atOld Tennessee Distilling Company. Here at Old Tennessee Distilling Company, we offer everything from Dumplin Creek Flavored Moonshine to our own award-winning corn whiskey, rum, rye, vodka, and bourbon. And the best part — you can taste them for free! If you like what you try in the tasting room, you can purchase a full-sized bottle (or mason jar!) to take home and whip up one of our favorite seasonal cocktails.
And there you have it, folks. Your recipe for the perfect winter evening in little ol’ Kodak, Tennessee — home of some great places to eat, America’s largest drive-through synchronized light show, and free tastings of some of the best whiskey and moonshine in the region (but maybe we’re biased). Come check it out this holiday season!
